Transmission Mode Switch: Testing and Inspection

HOLD SWITCH


Inspection of Operation


1. Turn the ignition switch from OFF to ON.
2. Verify that the HOLD indicator light is not illuminated. Depress the switch and verify that the HOLD indicator light comes ON.
3. If not as specified, check the terminal voltage of the hold switch.

Inspection of Voltage


1. Remove the rear console.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.






3. Check the voltage between terminals A and B.






4. If not correct, go to the next step.

Inspection of Continuity

1. Disconnect the connector.






2. Check continuity between terminals E and F.






3. If not correct, replace the selector lever knob as an assembly.
