Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Testing and Inspection

NOTE: Two separate intake air temperature sensors (IAT)s are utilized by the engine control system. One sensor is incorporated in the volume airflow sensor assembly and the other is mounted on the intake manifold dynamic chamber.

VOLUME AIRFLOW SENSOR IAT
Measure the resistance of the IAT sensor between terminals E2 & THA found on the volume airflow sensor connector:

DYNAMIC CHAMBER IAT
- Remove the IAT sensor from the intake manifold dynamic chamber.





- Connect a suitable ohmmeter to the sensor terminals.
- Measure the resistance of the sensor.
- Replace the IAT sensor if resistance readings are not as specified.
