Transmission Mode Switch: Service and Repair

1. Loosen trunnion bolt and remove trunnion from shift control arm grommet.
2. Remove shifter handle by grasping the handle firmly with the shifter in Drive position, then pulling straight upward.
3. Remove attaching screws, disconnect electrical connectors and remove bezel assembly.
4. On 4WD models, remove transfer case shift boot to housing attaching bolts.
5. Remove selector housing to floor pan attaching bolts, then the selector housing.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
