Spark Output (SPOUT) Connector Used For Ignition Timing Checks:

ELECTRONIC SPARK ADVANCE INSPECTION
1. Disconnect the shorting bar from the Spark Output (SPOUT) connector (base timing setting).

NOTE: The SPOUT connector is taped to an electrical harness located in front of the engine compartment on the left side of the vehicle.

2. Reconnect the shorting bar to the SPOUT connector.
3. Verify that the ignition timing advances when the shorting bar is connected and retards when the shorting bar is disconnected.

NOTE: The amount of advance depends on various factors and is not specified.
