Impact Sensor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the driver-side side cover, lower panel, and column cover.
3. Disconnect the orange and blue clock spring connectors.

4. Remove in the order shown in the figures, referring to Removal note.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal, referring to Installation note.

Removal Note (D-sensor, center)





1. Remove the 4 radiator bolts.





2. Shift the radiator back slightly and remove the D-sensor from between the radiator and the body.

Installation Note





^ Locate the crash sensor with the arrow on the sensor facing toward the front of the vehicle. Install it and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
^ If the crash sensor mounting area is damaged, carefully repair the area to its original shape. Install the crash sensor assembly.
