With NA4A-Hl Trans Model

1. Shift selector lever to "P" range, then remove column covers.
2. Pull selector lever toward driver and insert a 0.197 inch pin into gear shift rod assembly as shown in Fig. 10.
3. Shift transmission manual shaft to "P" range, then adjust lower bracket and shift lever bushing by sliding the shift lever assembly. There should be 0 clearance.
4. Torque shift lever mounting bolts to 12 - 17 ft.lb., then verify that detent ball is positioned in center of "P" range detent.
5. If not, loosen bolts "A", Fig. 11, and turn bracket to adjust position, then torque bolts "A" to 61 - 87 in.lb.
6. Adjust clearance between lower bracket and shift lever bushing by turning top lever, Fig. 12. There should be 0 clearance.

7. Remove air intake pipe, then loosen shift lever mounting bolts and top lever mounting bolts, Fig. 13.
8. Torque top lever mounting bolts "A", then "B" to 12 - 17 ft.lb.
9. Remove pin from gear shift rod assembly, install column covers and inspect selector lever operation.
