1. Disconnect battery ground cable and remove selector lever knob.
2. Remove shift boot panel assembly, boot and shifter lever, then raise and support vehicle and drain transmission fluid.
3. Remove speedometer cable and electrical connectors.
4. Place matchmarks on driveshaft and rear axle for assembly reference, then remove driveshaft.
5. Remove engine support bracket from right side of transmission.
6. Remove starter motor, then clutch release solenoid with clutch pipe still connected.
7. Remove clutch pipe bracket, then clutch housing undercover.
8. Remove front exhaust pipe, heat insulator and exhaust pipe bracket.
9. Support transmission with suitable jack, then remove engine to transmission attaching bolts, and transmission upper and lower mounts. Lower transmission from vehicle.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
