Transmission Temperature Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection


1. Remove the control valve body.

2. Remove the solenoid connector sub-harness assembly with the integral automatic transaxle fluid (ATF) thermosensor.
Service and Repair

3. Place the ATF thermosensor and a thermometer in transaxle oil.


Testing The ATF Thermosensor:





4. Connect an ohmmeter between terminals C and F of the ATF thermosensor.
5. Heat the transaxle oil and verify that the resistance drops as shown.
6. If not as specified, replace the ATF thermosensor and connector wiring assembly.
7. Install the control valve body.
