SWITCH MONITOR FUNCTION
Individual switches are monitored by using the Special Service Tools (SSTs) (System Selector and Self-Diagnostic Checker) with the test switch of the System Selector set to SELF-TEST.

PREPARATION
Ground the data link connector terminal TEN and turn the ignition switch ON (engine off). If any switch remains activated, the monitor light will be illuminated.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the SST (System Selector) to the data link connector.
2. Set switch A to position 1.
3. Set TEST switch to SELF-TEST.
4. Connect the SST (Self-Diagnostic Checker) to the System Selector and a ground.
5. Set the select switch of the Self-Diagnostic Checker to position A.
6. Turn the ignition switch ON.
7. Check if the monitor light illuminates when each switch is made to function as described.

Heated Oxygen Sensor
With the test switch of the System Selector set to "02 Monitor", the heated oxygen sensors (right and left bank) are monitored as described.
