Spark Plug: Service and Repair

REMOVAL / INSTALLATION

1. Remove and install the high-tension leads.

Caution: When the spark lead is to be pulled off, be sure to pull on the boot itself, not the lead.

Install Spark Plug Socket Squarely Over Spark Plugs:




2. Remove and install the spark plug with a plug socket.

Caution: Be sure the socket fits squarely over the spark plug.

Note: If the original spark plugs are to be reinstalled, they must be installed in the locations from which they were removed.

3. Apply anti-seize compound or molybdenum-based lubricant to the spark plug threads.
4. Tighten the spark plug to the specified torque.

Tightening torque: 9-20 N-m (7-14 ft-lb)

Note: Coat the entire interior surface of the high-tension lead boot with a silicone dielectric compound or equivalent.

Note:
^ Factory installed spark plugs are painted for left and right bank. These plugs are not interchangeable. Spark plugs for Left bank: White marked. Spark plugs for Right bank: Dark Green marked.
^ Service part can install at any place.
