Ignition Control Module: Testing and Inspection
1.
Check the
engine control module (ECM). Verify inputs and outputs are correct.

Refer to ECM pin test.
2.
Check the condition of the connector, distributor, ignition coil, and high-tension leads.
3.
If all are normal but misfire still occurs, replace the distributor.
NOTE: The
ignition control module is an integral component of the distributor and is not serviced separately.
