Transmission Mode Switch: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION OF OPERATION
1. Turn the ignition switch from OFF to ON.


View: HOLD Indicator Light:





2. Verify that the HOLD indicator light is not illuminated. Depress the HOLD switch and verify that the HOLD indicator light comes ON.
3. If not as specified, check the terminal voltage of the HOLD switch.

VOLTAGE INSPECTION
1. Remove the rear console.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.

3. Check the voltage at the HOLD switch connector.
4. If not as specified, check the continuity of the HOLD switch.

CONTINUITY INSPECTION
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the HOLD switch connector.

3. Check continuity of the switch.
4. If not as specified, replace the selector lever knob assembly.
5. Install the rear console.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
