Transmission Temperature Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove the control valve body. Refer to Valve Body.
2. Remove the solenoid connector sub-harness assembly with the integral transaxle fluid temperature sensor.
3. Place the transaxle fluid temperature sensor and a thermometer in transaxle oil.

Testing The Transaxle Fluid Temperature Sensor:

4. Connect an ohmmeter between terminals C and F of the transaxle fluid temperature sensor.
5. Heat the transaxle oil and verify that the resistance drops as shown.
6. If not as specified, replace the transaxle fluid temperature sensor and connector wiring assembly.
7. Install the control valve body.
