Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION
Visual inspection

CAUTION
- Do not drop the sensor, subject it to sharp shocks, put or allow anything in it. It is very sensitive and easily damaged.

1. Disconnect the mass air flow sensor connector.




2. Remove the mass air flow sensor.
3. Check for damage of the sensor.
4. Install the mass air flow sensor.

Voltage inspection
1. Disconnect the ECM (Engine Control Module) connectors.




2. Connect the SSTs (Special Service Tool) to the ECM as shown.
3. Check the voltage at terminals 20 and 2F.




4. If not as specified, replace the mass air flow sensor.

Tightening torque: 7.9-10.7 N m (70-95.4 in.lb)
