EGR Valve Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION
Output voltage inspection
1. Disconnect the ECM (Engine Control Module) connector.




2. Connect the SSTs (Special Service Tool) to the ECM as shown and connect a vacuum pump.
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (engine OFF).




4. Measure voltage at the terminals as shown in the table.
5. If not correct at terminal 2J, check the wiring harness and terminal 21 of the ECM.

Resistance inspection
1. Disconnect the EGR valve position sensor connector.




2. Measure the resistance between terminals A and B.

Specification: Approx. 2.7 k Ohms

3. If not as specified, replace the EGR control valve.
