Ignition Lock: Service and Repair

1. On models with audio anti-theft system, obtain radio deactivation code prior to disconnecting battery ground cable, then deactivate system as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove steering column covers, Fig. 2.

4. Remove attaching screws and ignition switch connectors.
5. Using a hammer and chisel, gently tap a groove into steering lock heads of steering lock mounting bolts.
6. Using a screwdriver, remove bolts and steering lock assembly.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
