Vehicle Speed Sensor: Testing and Inspection
Inspection1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the battery, rear intercooler air duct and air cleaner assembly.
3. Remove the starter.
4. Disconnect vehicle speed sensor 2 connector.
5. Remove vehicle speed sensor 2.
Note: Vehicle speed sensor 2 is a kind of generator of alternating current. Therefore, general circuit tester of direct current cannot follow if the vehicle speed is fast. (If using circuit tester of alternating current, voltage will increase when the vehicle speed is increasing.)
6. Measure the voltage between the terminals of the speedometer sensor while rotating the driven gear.
7. Install the vehicle speed sensor 2.
Tightening torque: 7.9-10.7 N-m (69.5-95.4 in-lb)
8. Connect vehicle speed sensor 2 connector.
9. Install the air cleaner assembly, rear intercooler air duct and battery.
10. Connect the negative battery cable.
