Band Servo Disassembly/Assembly

BAND SERVO DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY
1. Disassemble in the order indicated in the table.
2. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly indicated in the table.








Assembly procedure
1. Measure the spring free length and check for deformation.

Orifice check spring
Free length: 32.8 (1.291 in)
Servo return spring
Free length: 43.25 (1.703 in)

2. If not within the specification, replace the spring.
3. Install the orifice valve, orifice check spring, and orifice holder as shown.





4. Install the orifice component and washer to the transaxle case.
5. Tighten the orifice component by using a hexagonal wrench.





6. Apply ATF to new D-rings and install them to the servo piston.

D-ring inner diameter
Piston stem side: 58.5 mm (2.303 in)
Servo retainer side:
29.4 mm (1.157 in) (BP)
34.6 mm (1.362 in) (Z5)

7. Insert the piston stem into the servo piston and secure it with a new spring clip.
8. Apply ATF to the new O-ring and install it to the servo retainer.

O-ring inner diameter
67.0 mm (2.638 in)

9. Assemble the servo piston and servo retainer.
