Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

Inspection (On-vehicle)
Start the engine and verify that there is no exhaust gas leakage from the exhaust system components.

Removal/Inspection/Installation
1. Remove in the order shown in the image.
2. Check all parts and repair or replace if necessary.
3. Install in the reverse order of removal, referring to Installation Note.

1. Bracket
2. Split air pipe.
Inspect for deterioration and restriction.
3. Three way catalytic converter
Inspect for deterioration and restriction.
4. Main silencer
Inspect for deterioration and restriction.
5. Insulator
6. Warm up three way catalytic converter
Inspect for deterioration and restriction.
7. Turbocharger
8. Insulator
9. Exhaust manifold
Inspect for deterioration and restriction.
10. Insulator




Installation Note
Check the stud bolt tighting torque before installing exhaust manifold.

Tighting torque:
30-35 N m (22-26 ft.lb.)
