Clutch Switch: Description and Operation

CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION (CPP) SWITCH
Detects a load on engine.

Operation
- PCM uses load information in mass air flow and fuel calculations.
- Uses normally open switch.
- One volt or less signal input at PCM indicates a reduced engine load. A 5 volts signal input at PCM indicates engine load. On A/T model, jumper is connected to connector.
- If the clutch pedal position switch circuit has an open or short, Diagnostic Trouble Code No. P0704 is output.
- If the clutch pedal position switch is open or shorted, vehicle will not start or speed control will not disengage properly or idle speed will be too high with clutch pedal depressed.
