Purge Flow Sensor: Description and Operation

Purge Flow Sensor

FUNCTION
Monitors vapor flow through EVAP solenoid Purge flow sensor and sends signal to PCM. PCM sends output signal to solenoid based on flow conditions.

NOTE:
^ If the purge flow sensor circuit has an open or short, Diagnostic Trouble Code No. P1444 or P1445 is output.
^ If the purge flow sensor circuit is open or shorted, no driveability symptom will be noticed.
^ If purge flow is malfunctioning, DTC No. P1443 is output.
