Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

CKP Location:

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise vehicle on a hoist.
3. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor harness connector from the wiring harness.
4. Remove the crankshaft position sensor screws and remove the sensor.

CKP Sensor Location:

INSTALLATION
1. Position the crankshaft position sensor on engine.
2. Install the two sensor screws.

CAUTION: Do not overtighten crankshaft position sensor screws.

Tightening torques 5-7 Nm (40-61 in. lbs.)

3. Lower vehicle.
4. Route the sensor harness and connect the harness connector.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
