Intake-Air System


Removal / Installation:

WARNING:
- Fuel vapor is hazardous.
- It can very easily ignite, causing serious injury and damage. Always keep sparks and flames away from fuel.
- Fuel line spills and leaks are dangerous.
- Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Line Safety Procedures".


1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine coolant from the radiator.
3. Remove in the order shown in the figure below, refer to Exploded View.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal, referring to Installation Notes.
5. Refill the radiator with the specified engine coolant.

Intake-Air System Exploded View:




1. Fresh-air duct
2. Air intake hose
3. Air cleaner
4. Mass air flow sensor
5. Accelerator cable
6. Throttle body
7. BAC valve
8. VRIS solenoid valve
9. PRC solenoid valve No.1
10. PRC solenoid valve No.2
11. VRIS shutter valve actuator
12. Dynamic chamber
13. Fuel distributor
14. Water outlet pipe
15. Intake manifold

Installation Notes:




Dynamic Chamber:
Face the bead of the gasket as shown, and install the dynamic chamber.




Intake Manifold:
1. Face the bead of the gasket toward the intake manifold as shown, and install the intake manifold.

Torque Sequence:




2. Install the intake manifold washers with the white paint mark upward.
3. Tighten the nuts to the specification in two steps in the sequence shown in the figure.

Tightening torque:
Intake manifold and delivery pipes:
19-25 Nm (14 - 18 ft.lb.)
