Spark Plug: Service and Repair


Removal / Installation:

CAUTION:
- Pulling on the wire part of the spark plug high tension lead may break it.
- To remove the lead, pull only on the boot.
- To avoid breaking the spark plug, be sure to fit the socket squarely over it.

Removal




1. Remove the high tension leads from the spark plugs.
2. Remove the spark plugs.

Installation
1. Verify spark plug threads are free of dirt and foreign debris.
2. Verify correct spark plug gap.

Gap: 1.0-1.1mm (0.040-0.043 in)

3. Install the spark plugs.
4. Tighten to the specified torque.

Spark plug tightening torque: 15 - 22 Nm
(1.5 - 2.3 kgf.m, 11 - 16 ft.lb.)


5. Reinstall the high tension leads.
