Crankshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection
INSPECTIONResistance
- Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
- Measure the resistance between terminals A and B by using an ohmmeter.
Specification: 500 - 600 ohms @ 20°C (68°F)
- It not as specified, replace the crankshaft position sensor.
Air Gap
- Measure the air gap between the crankshaft pulley and the crankshaft position sensor by using a feeler gauge.
Specification: 0.5 - 1.5 mm (0.020 - 0.059 in.)
- If not as specified, replace the crankshaft pulley or the crankshaft position sensor.
