EGR Valve: Testing and Inspection
Inspection 1.
Start the engine and let it idle.
EGR Valve Vacuum Inspection:

Connect a
vacuum pump as shown in the figure and apply vacuum.
3.
Verify that the engine runs roughly or stalls at more than the specified vacuum.
Specification: 3.4-9.9 kPa (26-75 mm/Hg, 1.0-2.9 in.Hg) 4.
If not as specified, replace the
EGR valve.
