Flow Chart No. 5: Seat Control Switch Doesn't Function Properly

Flow Chart No. 5 - Symptom - Seat control switch does not function properly

Step 1
Check left seat control switch.




1. Disconnect seat motor connector and seat control switch connector.
2. Check continuity between B/W wire of seat control switch and all other pins.




3. Is continuity present?

Step 2







Check left front motor up.
1. Depress the front of seat button to the UP position.
2. Check continuity between B/W, R/LB wires and Y/LB, B wires of seat control switch.




3. Is continuity present?

Step 3







Check left front motor down.
1. Depress the front of seat button to the DOWN position.
2. Check continuity between Y/LB, B/W wires and B, R/LB wires of seat control switch.




3. Is continuity present?

Step 4
Check front height motor.
1. Check for open or short in Y/LB and R/LB wires in wire harness between seat control switch and height motor.




2. Is open or short present?

Step 5







Check left rear motor up.
1. Depress the rear of seat button to the UP position.
2. Check continuity between B/W, R/LG wires and Y/LG, B wires of seat control switch.




3. Is continuity present?

Step 6







Check left rear motor down.
1. Depress the rear of seat button to the DOWN position.
2. Check continuity between B/W and Y/LG wires and B and R/LG wires of seat control switch.




3. Is continuity present?

Step 7
Check left rear height motor.
1. Check for open or short in Y/LG and R/LG wires in wire harness between seat control switch and height motor.




2. Is open or short present?

Step 8







Check left level up.
1. Depress the entire seat button to the UP position.
2. Check continuity between BAN, R/LB and R/LG wires and Y/LB, Y/LG and B wires of seat control switch.




3. Is continuity present?

Step 9




Check left level down.
1. Depress the entire seat button to the DOWN position.
2. Check continuity between Y/LB, B/W and Y/LG wires and B, R/LB and R/LG wires of seat control switch.




3. Is continuity present?

Step 10







Check left horizontal motor forward.
1. Depress the entire seat button to the FORWARD position.
2. Check continuity between B/W and R/W wires and B and Y/W wires of seat control switch.




3. Is continuity present?

Step 11
Check FWD/RWD motor.
1. Check for open or short in Y/W and R/W wires in wire harness between seat control switch and FWD/RWD motor.




2. Is open or short present?

Step 12







Check left horizontal motor reverse.
1. Depress the entire seat button to the REARWARD position.
2. Check continuity between B/W and Y/W wires and B and R/W wires of seat control switch.




3. Is continuity present?
