Flow Chart No. 7: Washer Nonfunctional - No Interval Delay
Flow Chart No. 7 - Symptom- Washer non-functional - no interval delay.Step 1
Preliminary checks.
1. Check fuses for continuity; check connections for clean, tight fit; check for loose or damaged wires.
2. Do components and wiring check OK?
Step 2
On-demand self test.
1. Connect NGS Tester 49 T088 0A0 to data link connector (DLC). Retrieve continuous DTCs. Perform on-demand self test.
2. Are any DTCs retrieved with NGS Tester?
Step 3
Check for short to battery (LB/O).
1. Gain access to, then remove, GEM connector T-221 (26-pin connector).
2. Turn ignition to ON.
3. Using a voltmeter, check LB/O for short to battery at GEM connector terminal 13.
4. Is battery voltage present?
Step 4
Check LB/O circuit for continuity.
1. Gain access to, then remove, GEM connector T-221 (26-pin connector).
2. Turn ignition to OFF.
3. Check for continuity between LB/O and GY/R wires.
4. Depress windshield washer switch.
5. Is there less than 5 ohms?
Step 5
Check GY/R circuit for continuity.
1. Gain access to multi-function switch.
2. Check for continuity between the windshield wiper switch connector (GY/R) and GEM connector T-221 (GY/R) (26-pin connector).
3. Check LB/O between windshield wiper switch connector and LB/O of GEM connector T-221.
4. Is continuity present?
