Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

WARNING:
- Fuel vapor is hazardous. It can very easily ignite, causing serious injury and damage. Always keep sparks and flames away from fuel.
- Fuel line spills and leaks are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Line Safety Procedures". (Refer to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE.)


Fuel Pressure Release

Intake Components:




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine coolant from the radiator.







3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal indicated in the table.
5. Refill the radiator with the specified type and amount of engine coolant.

Dynamic Chamber Installation Note




Face the bead of the gasket toward the dynamic chamber as shown, and install the dynamic chamber.

Intake Manifold Installation Note




Torque Sequence:




1. Face the bead of the gasket toward the intake manifold as shown, and install the intake manifold.
2. Install the intake manifold washers with the white paint marks upward.
3. Tighten the nuts to the specification in two steps in the sequence shown in the figure.

Tightening torque
Intake manifold and delivery pipes: 19 - 25 Nm
(1.9 - 2.6 kgf.m, 14 - 18 ft.lbs.)
