Expansion Valve: Service and Repair




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Discharge the refrigerant from the system.
3. Remove the driver's rear side trim.

CAUTION: If moisture or foreign material enters the refrigeration system, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise will occur. Always immediately plug all open fittings after removing any refrigeration system parts to keep moisture or foreign material out of the system.

4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

CAUTION: To prevent the pipe from breaking, loosen and tighten the joint by using two open-end wrenches.

5. Install in the reverse order of removal indicated in the table.
6. Install the driver's rear side trim.

NOTE:
- Apply compressor oil to the 0-rings and connect the joint.
- When installing a new A/C solenoid valve, add ND-OIL8 compressor oil into the refrigeration system.

Supplemental amount: 10 ml (10 cc, 0.3 fl.oz.)

7. Charge the system and test its performance.
