Accumulators





DISASSEMBLY / ASSEMBLY
1. Disassemble in the order indicated in the illustration, referring to disassembly note.
2. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly indicated in the illustration, referring to assembly procedure.

Disassembly Note





Accumulator Piston (4, 7, 9, 11)
Remove the accumulator pistons and springs from the transmission case by applying compressed air through the oil passage as shown in the illustration. Air pressure of 392 kPa (57 psi) maximum.





Assembly Procedure
1. Measure the spring free length.
2. If not within the specification, replace the spring.

3. Apply ATF to the new O-rings and install them onto the accumulator pistons.
4. Apply even pressure to the perimeter of the accumulator pistons and install them into the transmission case.





5. Install each spring into its own accumulator piston.
6. Install the accumulator pistons and springs.
