Camshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR INSPECTION
1. Remove the camshaft position sensor.
2. Verify that the ignition control module connector is disconnected.
3. Connect the camshaft position sensor connector.
4. Disconnect the fuel injector connector.
5. Turn the ignition switch to ON.




6. Connect the Special Service Tools (Engine Signal Monitor) to the PCM.




7. Rotate the sensor drive by hand and measure the output voltage.




8. After the inspection, install the camshaft position sensor.




9. Start the engine and adjust the ignition timing.

Ignition timing: 9-11° BTDC

10. Tighten the camshaft position sensor lock bolt.
