Body Control Module: Testing and Inspection

Inspection
1. Remove the scuff plate, front side trim, and hood release lever.
2. Remove the joint box mounting nut.
3. Cut away the vinyl tape stuck to the floor harness.




Connector A
1. Remove the CPU from the joint box.
2. Measure the voltage at the CPU terminals from the joint box side, referring to the terminal voltage list.




Connector B, C, and D
1. Follow the appropriate procedure.

Terminals 1B, 1M, 1N, 2D, 2T, and 3A
1. Disconnect the CPU connector.
2. Check for continuity between the terminals of the CPU connector and ground.




Terminals except 1B, 1M, 1N, 2D, 2T, and 3A
1. Install the CPU onto the joint box.
2. Measure the voltage at the CPU terminals.

4. If riot as specified, inspect the parts listed under "Inspection area" and the related wiring harnesses.
5. If the parts and wiring harnesses are OK but the system still does not work properly, replace the CPU.
