Component Tests and General Diagnostics

CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
1. Remove the distributor.
2. Remove the PCM.




3. Connect the Special Service Tools to the PCM.
4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.




5. Rotate the distributor drive by hand and check the output signal.







6. If not as specified, inspect harness continuity:
- Between PCM terminal 4F and distributor (6-pin) terminal D
- Between PCM terminal 4D and distributor (6-pin) terminal A
- Between PCM terminal 4A and distributor (6-pin) terminal B

7. If there is incorrect terminal voltage or harness continuity replace the distributor.
