Sensor

HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR INSPECTION
Using voltmeter
1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.




3. Measure the voltage at heated oxygen sensor [Front] connector terminal A by using a voltmeter.




4. Ground heated oxygen sensor [Rear] connector terminal B to body.
Measure the voltage at heated oxygen sensor [Rear] connector terminal A by using a voltmeter.




5. If not as specified, inspect the following.
- On-board diagnostic system
- Intake manifold vacuum
- Fuel line pressure

6. If all the systems are OK, replace the heated oxygen sensor.

Using Special Service Tool New Generation Star Tester

Special Service Tool New Generation Star Tester Connected to Data Link Connector 2:




1. Connect the Special Service Tool to the data link connector 2.




2. Select the PID/DATA MONITOR function and press TRIGGER.
3. Select "FHO2S", "RHO2S" on the NGS display. NGS measures and shows the voltage.




4. If not as specified, inspect the following.
- On-board diagnostic system
- Intake manifold vacuum
- Fuel line pressure

5. If these systems are OK, replace the heated oxygen sensor.
