Keyless Entry Transmitter Battery: Testing and Inspection

NOTE:
^ If the battery is not subject to load it cannot be properly inspected.
^ A correct measurement cannot be obtained when the battery temperature is low. If the inspection result is below the standard voltage, inspect it again after it has been at 18° C {64° F} or more for at least 30 minutes.
^ There is an auto power off function in the transmitter, so be sure to read the voltage within 0.5 seconds after pushing the button.
^ If the transmitter is malfunctioning, the battery cannot be properly inspected.

1. Remove the transmitter cover.




2. Connect the positive (+) lead of the voltmeter to the positive (+) terminal of the transmitter and the negative (-) lead to the negative (-) terminal.
3. Push any button of transmitter in one second intervals at least 10 times and measure the voltage every time.
4. Compare the minimum voltage to the standard voltage.

Standard voltage
2.7 V or more
5. If not as specified, perform the troubleshooting, symptom.
