Keyless Entry Transmitter: Testing and Inspection

NOTE:
^ If the battery is not subject to load, it cannot be properly inspected.
^ A correct measurement cannot be obtained when the battery temperature is low. If the inspection result is below the standard voltage, inspect it again after it has been at 18 °C {64 °F} or more for at least 30 minutes.
^ There is an auto power off function in the transmitter, so be sure to read the voltage within 0.5 seconds after pushing the button.
^ If the transmitter is malfunctioning, the battery cannot be properly inspected.

1. Remove the transmitter cover.

2. Connect the positive ( + ) lead of the voltmeter to the positive ( + ) terminal of the transmitter and the negative (-) lead to the negative (-) terminal (or circuit element).
3. Push any button of transmitter 10 time or more in every 1 second and measure the voltage every time.
4. Compare the minimum voltage to the standard voltage.
Standard voltage 2.7 V or more
5. If not as specified, perform symptom troubleshooting.
