Scan Tool Connection Procedure

1. Connect the SSTs (NGS) to the data link connector-2.
2. Refer to the manufacturer-provided instruction manual for the NGS operation.

NOTE:
- Some DTCs are detected only when the engine is running. Before checking the DTCs, start the engine.




3. Start the engine.
4. Select "DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE" function and press trigger.
5. When "SYSTEM PASSED (NO DTCs AVAILABLE)" is displayed, all systems monitored are judged OK.
6. When any of the diagnostic trouble codes is displayed, carry out troubleshooting according to the code.
7. When "UNABLE TO PERFORM TEST/FUNCTION", "NOT RESPONDING/NOT EQUIPPED", "CHECK IGNITION STATUS", "VERIFY CABLE REQUIREMENTS" and "CHECK CABLE CONNECTIONS" is displayed, check connection of the NGS.
8. After all problems have been repaired, carry out "After Repair Procedure." Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
