Oil Pump: Service and Repair

OIL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the timing chain. Refer to Engine; Service and Repair.





3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
5. Start the engine and inspect for engine oil leakage.
6. Inspect the oil pressure. Refer to Engine Lubrication; Testing and Inspection; Procedures; Oil Pressure Inspection.

1. Loosen the oil pump bolts in the order shown.

Oil Pump Installation Note





1. Tighten the oil pump bolts in the order shown.

Oil Strainer Installation Note
1. Tighten the oil strainer bolts.
Tightening torque: 8 - 12 Nm (82 - 122 kgf-cm, 71 - 106 inch lbs.)





2. Tighten the oil strainer stay nut to 5.0 Nm (5l kgf-cm, 44 inch lbs.), then tighten it another 45° using the SST.
