Shift Linkage: Service and Repair

SELECTOR ROD AND BRACKET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Remove the battery carrier.





4. Remove the selector cable nut.
5. Remove the selector rod from the manual shaft lever.
6. Remove the bracket from the transaxle.





7. Install the new bracket to the transaxle.
Tightening torque
6.87 - 9.80 Nm (70 - 100 kgf.cm, 60.8 - 86.7 inch lbs.)
8. Install the selector rod to the manual shaft lever.
Tightening torque
16 - 22 Nm (1.6 - 2.3 kgf.m, 12 - 16 ft. lbs.)





9. Install the selector cable nut.
Tightening torque
16 - 22 Nm (1.6 - 2.3 kgf.m, 12 - 16 ft. lbs.)
10. Install the battery carrier.
11. Install the battery.
12. Connect the negative battery cable.
