Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Testing and Inspection

INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR (AIR CLEANER) INSPECTION

1. Remove the IAT sensor (air cleaner)
2. Place the sensor and a thermometer in the water.

Specification:

3. Gradually heat the water and measure the resistance of the sensor using an ohmmeter.
- If not as specified, replace the IAT sensor (air cleaner).

IAT Sensor Signal Characteristic (Reference):

INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR (DYNAMIC CHAMBER) INSPECTION

1. Remove the IAT sensor (dynamic chamber).
2. Place the sensor and a thermometer in the water.

Specification:

3. Gradually heat the water and measure the resistance of the sensor using an ohmmeter.
- If not as specified, replace the IAT sensor (dynamic chamber).

Tightening torque:
7.9 - 11.7 N.m {80 - 120 kgf.cm, 70 - 104 in.lbf}

1. Remove the IAT sensor (L/C).
2. Place the sensor and a thermometer in the water.

Specification:

3. Gradually heat the water and measure the resistance of the sensor using an ohmmeter.
- If not as specified, replace the IAT sensor (L/C).

Tightening torque:
7.9 - 11.7 N.m (80 - 120 kgf.cm, 70 - 104 in.lbf}
