Engine - Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATIONWARNING: When the engine is hot, it can badly burn. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before removing the ECT sensor.
1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.
3. Remove the ECT sensor using the SST.
4. Replace the gasket.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Tightening torque
16 - 23 N.m {1.6 - 2.4 kgf.m, 12 - 17 ft.lbf}
6. Refill the engine coolant.
