Axle Speed Sensor Rotor, Rear

AXLE SPEED SENSOR ROTOR, REAR REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. Remove the differential from the rear axle.
2. Remove the 10 bolts retaining the ring gear to the differential case.
3. Remove the ring gear.

Note:
^ Only remove speed sensor rotor if replacement is required. It does not have to be removed for ring bearing replacement.





4. Remove the speed sensor rotor by tapping with a soft face hammer. Discard the speed sensor rotor.

Note:
^ The rotor must be discarded upon removal. If removed, a new speed sensor rotor must be installed.

5. Install in reverse order of removal.

Insert a punch in the bolt holes and drive the ring gear off.

1. Install the rotor by aligning the tab on rotor with the slot in the differential case.

Caution:
^ Start two of the ring gear bolts through the differential case and into the ring gear to make sure the ring gear bolt holes align with the differential case bolt holes properly.

2. Press the new rotor and ring gear on the differential case.
3. Coat the threads of the ring gear retaining bolts with sealant.
4. Install bolts and alternately tighten evenly.
Tightening torque 9 - 115 Nm (9.7 - 11.7 kgf-cm, 70 - 85 ft. lbs.)
