Parking Brake Control: Service and Repair

PARKING BRAKE CONTROL REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the parking brake pedal is fully released.
2. Relieve the tension on the parking brake system.
1. Pull down on the parking brake intermediate cable.
2. Insert a 4 mm (5/32 inch) drill bit or equivalent retainer in the parking brake control.
3. Remove the LH splash shield.
4. Remove in order shown in figure.
5. Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary.








6. Install in reverse order of removal.

Front Cable Removal Note

Note:
^ Disconnect the front parking brake cable and conduit at the locating hole end of the connector.





1. Disconnect the front parking brake cable and conduit from the parking brake intermediate cable at the locating hole end of the connector.
2. Compress the retainer (1) from the front parking brake cable and conduit from the bracket.





3. Remove the front parking brake cable and conduit (2) from the bracket.
