Steering Wheel: Service and Repair
STEERING WHEELRemoval
1. Turn the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position and turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS).
3. Open the access cover on the steering wheel.
4. Turn the pinion shaft to release the steering wheel from the column shaft.
5. Remove the steering wheel.
1. Position the steering wheel rearward.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
6. Remove the driver air bag module.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
8. Repower the supplemental restraint system (SRS).
