Battery Cable: Service and Repair

Removal and Installation

1. Remove the battery tray.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.




3. Remove the nut and the cable end from the generator B+ connector.
4. Uncouple the harness at the generator harness retainer.
5. Remove the starter motor solenoid terminal cover.




6. Remove the cable ends from the starter solenoid.
1. Remove the upper nut.
2. Remove the lower nut.

7. Remove the battery cable ground.
8. Remove the wire harness pin-type retainers.
9. Remove the wire harness clip-type retainers.




10. Remove the fuse junction box cover.




11. Remove the cables.
1. Remove the nuts and the cable.
2. Release the lock clip and pull down on the connector.

12. Remove the battery cable harness assembly.
13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
