Disassembly and Assembly

FRONT SEAT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY

WARNING: Handling the front seat (with a side air bag) improperly can accidentally deploy the side air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read air bag system service warnings and cautions before handling the front seat (with a side air bag).

CAUTION:
- If any of the following work is performed, perform the seat weight sensor calibration using the WDS or equivalent. (See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CALIBRATION.)
- Replacement with a new seat weight sensor
- Replacement with a new seat weight sensor control module
- Replacement with new passenger-side seat parts
- Disassembly of the passenger-side seat
- If any of the following work is performed, perform the seat weight sensor inspection using the WDS or equivalent. (See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR INSPECTION.) Testing and Inspection
- Removal of the passenger-side seat
- Loosening and retightening of passenger's seat fixing bolts

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for more than 1 minute.
2. Remove the side air bag module.










3. Disassemble in the order indicated in the table.
4. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.

Headrest disassembly note




1. Insert a wire as shown in the figure and remove the headrest in the direction shown by the arrow.

Side cover disassembly note




1. Remove the clips A and B.
2. Lift the side cover up in the direction of the arrow, then unhook slide adjuster.

Anchor cover disassembly note




1. Remove the pins A and clips B from the side cover using a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver.
2. Lift the anchor cover up in the direction of the arrow and remove it from the side cover.
