Pinpoint Test 3
PINPOINT TEST 3: A SINGLE DOOR LOCK IS INOPERATIVENormal Operation
The smart junction box (SJB) receives voltage on circuit (DG). When the SJB receives a lock signal from a door lock control switch or a remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter the SJB closes the lock relay control circuit. The lock relay closes supplying voltage to the door lock actuators on circuits (P/B) and (R) and ground on circuits (P/O) and (LB) locking the doors. When the SJB receives an unlock signal from a door lock control switch or a remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter the SJB closes the unlock relay control circuit. The lock relay closes supplying voltage to the door lock actuators on circuits (P/O) and (LB) and ground on circuits (P/B) and (R) unlocking the doors.
Possible Causes
- circuit (P/B) open or short to ground
- circuit (P/O) open or short to ground
- circuit (R) open or short to ground
- circuit (LB) open or short to ground
- door lock actuator
- SJB
CAUTION: Use the correct probe adaptor(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adaptor(s) may damage the connector.
