Heater Hose: Service and Repair

HEATER HOSE REMOVAL / INSTALLATION

1. Drain the radiator, see ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT.

2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube, see AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE REMOVAL / INSTALLATION.




3. On 2.3L engines, remove the heater hoses from the heater core.
- Disconnect the vacuum line from the water control valve.
- Remove the heater hose from the rear coolant tube,










4. Remove the heater hoses from between the heater core and the water control valve.
5. On 2.3L engines, disconnect the heater hose from the water outlet tube and remove the heater hose assembly.




6. Remove the heater hose from between the water control valve and the water pump.




7. On 4.0L engines, remove the nut from the clip.










8. Remove the heater hose from between the water control valve and the water outlet.
