Differential Mount: Service and Repair

AXLE HOUSING BUSHING REMOVAL / INSTALLATION

Removal Note

Note:
^ Axle tube bushing removal shown, axle housing bushing is a similar procedure.

1. Remove the front axle assembly.





2. Position the tube bushing removal or equivalent tools,
1 Position Bushing Remover/Replacer Cup SST 205-371 (T96T-5638-E) or equivalent.
2 Position Drawbolt SST 205-374 (T96T-5638-H) or equivalent.
3 Thread the Bushing Remover Adapter SST 205376 (T96T-5638-K) on the Drawbolt SST.





3. Tighten the Drawbolt SST to remove the bushing.

1. Position the bushing and the tube bushing installation or equivalent tools.
1 Position the bushing.
2 Position Gauge Ring SST 204-206 (T96T-5638D).
3 Position Bushing Replacer Collet SST 205-372 (T96T-5638-F).
4 Position Bushing Remover/Replacer Cup SST 205-371 (T96T-538-E).
5 Position Drawbolt SST 205-374 (T96T-5638-H).
6 Thread Bushing Replacer Adapter SST 205370 (T96T-5638-B) on the Drawbolt SST.
2. Tighten the Drawbolt SST to install the bushing.
1 Remove the tools.
3. Install the front axle assembly.
4. Check the fluid level and fill the axle to specification. Use axle lubricant meeting specification API Service GI-5





5. Lower the vehicle.
